How is the Real Estate Market in New Hampshire

 Everywhere I go, people ask me, “How’s the Real Estate Market in New Hampshire?” My answer is, “It’s great if you’re a seller!” Real Estate properties, including single-family homes, condos and vacation houses in New Hampshire and Maine are selling within a day or two of hitting the market if they are priced correctly, often with multiple offers, and often above asking price. Right now, there’s an extreme shortage of real estate inventory, and a huge demand for properties in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire and western Maine.

I saw a drastic change in the real estate market in the summer of 2020, as people started coming out of quarantine. It seemed that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there was an enormous surge of people eager to get out of crowded urban areas and buy vacation getaways or move to the mountains.

Which brings me to the second part of my answer to the question, “How’s the NH Real Estate Market?” It’s tough if you are buying a home in NH or Maine. You must have all your ducks in a row. If you have cash for your purchase, you are in a great position. If you need financing, you must be prepared with a pre-qualification letter from your lender. It will make things easier if you use a lender that’s local to the area in which you are purchasing.

If you plan to buy a home in New Hampshire, especially in the White Mountains, you will be well advised to hire a Buyer’s Agent to help you negotiate your purchase because it can be tricky in such a competitive market to win the bid on the home you choose. And, you should be prepared if you lose a bid to move on and try not to be too disappointed. There will always be another home that you may love even more!
